Bad Driving

Can scooters drive in the HOV lane?

En route to home the other day on my '82 Honda Passport. Traffic was extra bad, weather was good and cruising by all the single occupancy vehicles makes riding the scooter appear sooo much cooler than it really is. On this day though, even the HOV lane was bumper to bumper.

The HOV lane was totally backed up and i figured a bus had broken down in the HOV lane or something. Lone and behold i get to the mysterious broken bus and there is a car parked with its hazards on blinking away. 2 buses trying to swerve around the parked obstacle, some impatient drivers not giving the buses enough room and grid lock is rearing its ugly head. I take the opportunity to weave around the mess and pull up next to the parked car.

Hazards blinking, Engine on (in an idle free city), seat fully reclined i find the operator of the vehicle attempting to hide from all the evil glares being shot her way. I look to see what she is waiting for and 3 people are standing outside a shop arguing about something. She's clearly waiting for them, they clearly are more interested in finishing their debate and the parked care continues to cause chaos on the road.

I bang on the window and ask the lady if she's embarrassed with her bad driving or just tired and taking a nap. Zero acknowledgment from her. I bang on the window again (is partly rolled down anyway) and tell her there is parking not 60 feet from her current position and she's really causing alot of traffic. Do everyone a favor, please, this is not safe.

She finally looks up at me and tells me, she's not parked and the traffic isn't her problem. Her engine is running and she can stop wherever she likes for as long as she desires.

My reply: Do you honestly believe that you are the sole individual that exists in this world?

She shot me an evil glare and rolled the rest of her window up.

*sigh*

People living in ignorance are so annoying to those of us who are not.
